Choppin' Barack-illy

I was going to talk about Obama and how, despite my stance on the democratic system and how, despite seeing half of Recount during our vacation [and being impressed and depressed simultaneously by the movie], and how, despite not really knowing what change Obama is for... I might just go ahead and vote for him in November.

Like I said, I was going to blog about all that.

Instead, an awesome related video from The Daily Show:

I had to go and read your stance on the Democratic system. I didn't have the energy to read all the comments though. But I read some. And yeah you should check out the Libertarian candidate if you haven't already. His stance is similar to yours; basically that we should live and let live. I think the official slogan of the Libertarian party is "As much liberty as possible with as little government as necessary".

If it's between Obama and McBush, I'm not voting for either. I'll either write in RP's name or vote for Barr.

BTW, I think you can vote for "none of the above". :)

I totally went back and read that post. I thought my comment was pretty awesome, but I stopped reading it because it was too long. HA!!

That video was far more entertaining than it had any right to be.

Except that no one cares if Jack and Kate will get together. No one.

tara: Ron Paul would make abortion illegal. How exactly is that libertarian?

First off, I never said RP was Libertarian. But I simply said I'd write his name in if I come to feel like that's the best course for me.

Second, didn't Bush say the same thing about abortion? Nothing came out of it either cuz there are bigger fish to fry out there.

Third, RP wouldn't make abortion illegal, nor does he think he should or could. Under the Constitution, he agrees it's not his call (or a Federal call). All he *would* do (if he even could, which is a highly debatable question) is overturn Roe v. Wade and allow it go to a state-by-state decision, which Constitutional is the only thing that should be done. Whether we like it or not, we can either follow the Constitution like we're suppose to or stop griping when Bush and his neo-con cronnies fail to follow it themselves. We can't have it both ways.

And if the *possibility* of a battle over abortion is the worst that could come out his presidency, bring it on! I'm certainly not going to be a one issue voter. :)

Peace,
Tara
