inexplicable

Man, that's a great word.

But, seriously, you know what is inexplicable? The popularity of "Deal or No Deal".

I mean, really. It's an hour of opening suitcases.

With Howie Mandel.

But is it really popular? I was leaning towards the opinion that NBC is only teling us that it's wildly popular, but that it's actually not.

I mean, do you watch it? I don't. I don't think I know anyone who does. And I never hear about how much of a "phenomenon" it is outside of those commercials for it.

Saren really likes it, but, yeah, other than that, nobody I know actually watches it (or admits to watching it). So perhaps it's just a case of NBC telling us that they're cool. (Because how would we know otherwise!?)

It's a wretched, ire rising show. I saw it once... and that was more than enough.

I think it appeals to the Who Wants to be a Millionaire crowd... even though it takes zero skill or knowledge (unless you're a whiz at odds - and even then it comes down to luck).

Also, it's on right before Trump's The Apprentice... so, it probably gets a large chunk of that viewership.

The most pompous TV reviewer in the UK said it had a "Hitchcockian" plot.

Personally, I think he made up the word "Hitchcockian" (which I'm finding really difficult to type).

I like it because it's getting a bit of probability out to the masses. It's all about the math!

I don't go out my way to watch it, but if I flick over the TV and it happens to be on, it's the kind of show that sucks me in.

Plus, I love Noel Edmonds (the UK host).
