Doctors, monkeys, and werewolves.

I could probably do a full month's worth of these, but for now, just three short ones. (because that's all I can remember/think of right now)

When it comes to songs, I'm full of ...idiosyncrasies (or maybe audiosyncrasies. Heh.).
What I mean by that is that I will continue to sing things as I originally heard them, even if the lyrics are incorrect. Or, as is the case with the last two examples I'll give in a moment, I know the correct words, but have changed them to be more jokey/weird, and even though I don't *hear* them that way, I always change it.

Hopefully when I get to the examples, it'll make more sense.

The first is (most likely) a mondegreen, and I really have no idea what's truly being said. I could google up the lyrics, of course, but I almost prefer not to really know.
It's from Queen's "Another One Bites the Dust", and the lyric is at the 2:04 mark. I swear that Freddie Mercury is saying either, "I'm a doctor!" or "I'm adopted!" Neither really makes a lot of sense, but that's how I've sung it for years.

The next is from the Beatles, and it's from "Get Back". (I may have mentioned this one in my blog before. But since I can't freaking search...[/irritated])
The beginning line is, "Jojo was a man who thought he was a loner", but I ALWAYS sing it as, "Jojo was a man who thought he was a monkey."
Yeah, I know. "loner" sounds NOTHING like "monkey", but, dude. All songs are better when you add monkeys.

And lastly, is "Head Over Feet" by Alanis Morissette. At the end, when she sings, "I am aware now. I am aware now." [2:58 - 3:04] I simply can not resist changing it to the hysterical, "I am a were-wolf. I am a were-wolf."

Good times. If I remember any others (and there are plenty of them), I'll make sure I update ya'll. And if you have any of your own you want to share, the comment box is open.

Funky.

Anyone care to explain how (or why), exactly, a brick house is supposed to be analogous to a woman with an hourglass figure?

shuffle!

Or, Memep3 take 2.

Remember this meme? (Which led to this one that was also cool, but sadly, never seemed to catch on...)

Anyway. Time to do it again. Just because!

Meme rules:
Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random.

Step 2: Post the first line from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.

Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.

Yeah, I'm not doing 20 this time. I think, oh, 8 or 9 is a better number.

While I fire up iTunes, I'll talk about something. Um.
Huh. I guess not. Here we go!!

1) "Happy Jack wasn't old, but he was a man." (oh, way to start all easy!)

2) "Well you've got the perfect disguise and you're looking ok."

3) "So long to this cold, cold part of the world."

4) "So you say I need to consider this." (finally start getting harder)

5) "I'm losing speed, trying to keep up with you."

6) "Just living the way I live, the faces in the crowd."

7) "Howard, the strangest things have happened lately"

8) "SPEW!!!"

9) "I know, I know, I said that I would quit!"

Oh, here's an iTunes related question - does anyone know how to make it stop skipping the final five seconds of songs when playing a playlist? Sometimes it's cool, but mostly it's kinda annoying.

Good luck, everyone! (And if you want to do the meme on your own blog, let me know. I suck at the guessing, but I do like getting the peek into what's on everyone's playlists.)

I can name ... in six words

Who's up for a little lyrical game?

I will post the first two words, an ellipses, and the last two words of a song. Your mission is to identify them. Artist and title, if you're really good. ;)

I'll post the answers after a day or so.EDITED!

Decided the game was a little too difficult, so I'm adding a word to the beginning and the end. Plus, the ones that have already been IDed are no longer in the running. Answers will be up..probably the day after tomorrow.

Here we go!

1) "I'd like to ... garden with you."

2) "Came in from ... is my world."

3) "There are places ... love you more."

4) "I want ... my atmosphere." Soul Meets Body by Death Cab for Cutie [IDed by Kirk]

5) "Some say the ... all come down."

6) "On a dark ... can never leave."

7) "Can you feel ... what is it?"

8) "Hello I've waited ... when she sang."

9) "Is this ... wind blows." Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen [IDed by CosmicAvatar]

10) "In my ... just disappear." Black Hole Sun by Soundgarden [IDed by Kirk]

11) "Are you ... of mine." Scarborough Fair by Simon & Garfunkel [IDed by Cosmic Avatar]

12) "An old man ... helping you out."

13) "What's with these ... care about that."

14) "Spent my days ... as it seems."

15) "Don't you ever ... never never change."

Good luck!

Random Rules

There is a feature at the AV Club.com (a feature of The Onion) entitled "Random Rules" where they have famous people put their MP3 players on random, and then just talk about the first few songs that come up - no matter how embarrassing the tunes might be.

I first heard about this from this post at metafilter, and in the comments on that one, the "mefites" opted to talk about the first 5 songs on their lists.

I figured, hey, that seems like it might result in some entertaining blog entries, and so, here it is.

But.

I've got a twist to it.
I will only be typing about the songs - for the length that they are running. If the song ends and I'm typing midsentence, well, that's just tough luck.

So, to reiterate, here are the "rules" such as they are:

1. Put your music player on "random" or "shuffle" or whatever plays them in no order.
2. Talk about the first 5 (or more) songs that come up, no skipping allowed. The "discussion" can be whatever you want - how you first discovered the song, memories it induces, what you are planning on having for dinner...whatever you want.
3. When the song ends, so does the talking. You dont' have to type the entire length of the song, but you can not keep discussing that song once it is finished.

And with that, I'm gonna do mine:

Song #1 - "It Don't Mean Nothing" by Quasi.

This is a very catchy little tune, that I think may have been used in car commercials. It totally sounds like it could be. We were introduced to Quasi by Steph's superrad brother, who is way into lots of alternative bands.
Lyrically, this song "don't mean nothing to me" (heh.) I mean, it's very very simple. But it's really quite rocking.
Um.
Next!!

Song #2 - "Piggy" by Nine Inch Nails.

Oh, man. I remeber when NIN was my favorite band. I saw them perform live..twice? I think. And I've touched Trent Reznor's fingertips. Brush with greatness!
Now, though, maybe because I've aged, or maybe because the songs haven't...I'm just not as into them as I was. This album is still quite enjoyable, but I can't embrace the nihilistic attitude of "nothing can stop me now, cuz I don't care anymore" as I used to.
But, back in 94, when Downward Spiral came out, it was the shizzit.
(I've run out of things to say about this, and I still have a full mintue left to talk about it! Oh well. Next!!)

Song #3 - "My Generation" by The Who

YAY!! Man, this song rocks. Even Danny Tanner couldn't do a bad rendetion of it. (Remember when he sang this on Full House? Yep. I'm old. And lame.)
I wonder who else has done covers of this song. It really should be done every fifteen years or so.
And the question of "Why don't you all f-f-f-fade away?" always reminds me of the Buffyboard and when I asked that in a boq and answered that that was what Tara said in "Family". It's weird what connections brains make with songs, no?
Also, the line, "Hope I die before I get old" always makes me think about how the members of The Who are old now. Or, could be considered old, and I wonder if they ever remember/think about this song and regret living as long as they have. I doubt it.

Song #4 - "Interlude (Milo)" by Modest Mouse

Instrumental. And pretty short. But I like it. This whole album ("Good News For People Who Love Bad News") is awesome. I highly recommend it.
Oh yeah. This song has the baby gurgling in the back ground, which always used to make me t

Song #5 - "Fred Jones, Part 2" by Ben Folds

Oh, man. Out of all the depressing songs on Rocking the Suburbs I end up on the one that really bums me out the most. This is about a man who is being forced to retire ( think) and just how the company he worked for for most of his life just doesn't give a crap. They used him, they're done with him, and they'll move on, and he won't. Really sad.
I think it might be about his father, which makes it a tiny bit more personal.

Hmm. Well, that wasn't really as entertaining as I had hoped it would be. The extra pressure of the time restraint made it more typo inducing than anything, and, oddly, a lot of songs, I just don't have that much to talk about.
(Song #6, which just kicked on, is "Father Christmas" by The Kinks - YAY!)
However, if anyone else wants to do their own version of "Random Rules", I'd look forward to reading it.

And holy christ I'm tired.

MemeP3

Yeah. I'm finally getting around to doing the Music Meme that Annika posted, like a gabillion years ago.

Step 1: Put your MP3 player or whatever on random.

Step 2: Post the first line from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.

Step 3: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.

Also, I'm going by what I hear, so if any of these are mondegreens, well... I don't know what I've been told. :)

1. "He says he knows me, but I don't know that guy."

2. "I'm awake, you're still sleeping."

3. "Pangs of silence from the room upstairs."

4. "You say that I am all about being tasty."

5. "Everyone gather 'round now, sing us a song, just in case tomorrow it happens he's gone."

6. "I can't stop myself from calling out your name."

7. "It's a junkie dream, makes you so uptight."

8. "The lights are off again, she took me by surprise."

9. "You look like a perfect fit, for a girl in need of a tourniquet."

10. "Crab if you wanna, she won't be coming down."

11. "Istanbul was Constantinople."
(Yay! A freebie!)

12. "Gonna make my move. Gonna make it stick."

13. "I'd like to tell you, like to tell you, like to tell you everything."

14. "There is [something] so wake up, run your lips across your fingers."
(Sorry. I honestly couldn't make that first part out.)

15. "I met this girl, she looked like Axl Rose."

16. "I don't get many things right the first time."
(In fact, I am told that a lot.)

17. "Well she crept back in the house at half past three."

18. "It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas everywhere you go."
(Another freebie! But, can you guess the artist?)

19. "Dance Hall, Dance Hall Everyday!! I'm gonna dance hall, dance hall everyday!!"

20. "Two headed boy all floating in glass."

Phew! That took much longer than expected.
I have my own (psuedo)music meme, but I'll wait until we later to post it. We have to get ready to go to Saren's soccer game now.

Song lyric round up III

February 17th is the date where, for the past two years I have listed all the titles from my blog that have been song lyrics, and IDed them for anyone who happens to care.

Got to do it again, since it's a tradition now.

Only going forward from 2/18/05 through today, of course. If you want more, click on the links above. [lazy]

"Three... is a magic number." on May 20th, 2005 is from Three is a Magic Number by Schoolhouse Rock. (It was also covered by Blind Melon in an attempt to help Gen Xers cash in on nostalgia)

"Hi ho" on May 25th, 2005, is from Heigh Ho (Dwarfs' Digging and Marching Song) by the seven dwarfs, and which was in the movie Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. (although I obviously can't spell.)

"There's only one way. There's only one way... to rock!" on June 4th, 2005, is from There's Only One Way To Rock by Van Halen.

"Phone calls! We get your phone calls! We get your phone calls everyday!" on June 9th, 2005, is a jingle from the Howard Stern show.

"Hit Me Baby 1 More Time" on June 10th, 2005, is from ...Baby One More Time, by Britney Spears.

"I get by with a little help from my friends." on July 13th, 2005, is from With a Little Help From My Friends, by The Beatles (also done by Joe Cocker)

"I don't like Mondays." on August 8th, 2005, is from I Don't Like Mondays by the Boomtown Rats.

"I saw the sign, and it opened up my eyes" on August 11th, 2005, is from The Sign by Ace of Base.

"What would you say, if I took those words away?" on September 7th, 2005, is from More Than Words by Extreme.

"It's a gas gas gas!" on September 30th, 2005, is from Jumpin' Jack Flash by The Rolling Stones.

"Wake me up when September ends" on September 30th, 2005, is from Wake Me Up When September Ends by Green Day.

"Hail, hail, rock and roll." on October 25th, 2005, is from Hail! Hail! Rock 'n' roll! by Chuck Berry. (Erm. I think. My Google-fu is kinda rusty.)

"Talk about, pop music." on October 26th, 2005, is from Pop Music, by M.

"Same old song, DJ sucks." on October 28th, 2005, is from Radio Song by REM

"Play the funky music, white boy!" on December 3rd, 2005, is from Play That Funky Music (White Boy) by Wild Cherry.

"Time to get ill" on December 8th, 2005, is from Time to Get Ill by the Beastie Boys (aww, mom, you're just jealous!)

And that's it! Wow. Much less than previous years. I think...no, I know that part of the reason for that is because I've been self-conscious of the fact that on Feb. 17th I'd be making this list, so I've used less song lyrics than I normally would. I've said it before, I'll undoubtedly say it again, brains are weird.

Same old song, DJ sucks.

A few months ago, Las Vegas radio got a little bit better.

100.5 FM, which had been "Lite 100" and played Adult Contemporary (whatever that means) suddenly switched formats.

It became the "All new Jack FM", which plays "What they want to". It also boasts the "biggest playlist in Vegas" and from what I've heard of the station, that is true.
Jack stations are apparently across the country, but this was a new development to me. The station doesn't have any DJs. That's right. No annoying banter in the morning. No stupid callers on air to make requests or ask "What's the name of that one song that John Meyer sings?" Yay!
The drawback to that is that if you hear a song you like (and Jack FM has played quite a few songs I've liked) you're left wondering who it was and/or what the song was called.

But still. No DJs!

Instead, the station plays a huge variety of music - ranging from country to disco to alternative and ranging from the late 60s up to today. In between these songs, they have "voice mail" messages. Where people who call the station's line and leave kiss ass words about how wonderful the station is. Most of the time, once the person talking has finished, a robotic female voice says, "Message saved." (Sadly, they don't say "Low battery." after each one, like our answering machine at home does. That would be amusing. Another missed opportunity is for the female robot to say, "Robots unite!" Hmm. Maybe I should program radio stations instead.)

Anyway. So Jack FM has become one of my favorite stations - it's on right now, in fact, playing "Back in the High Life" by Steve Winwood (that's one I know!)...which is now ending. What's next? Let's see.
Um. Well. It won't end. Heh. Man, that song had a long instrumental ending.
Oh. Now they're playing some sort of disco song that I don't recognize yet. Oh!!! "Jungle Boogie". Hee.
See. Any station that can go from Back in the High Life to Jungle Boogie is okay by me.

But. This (long winded - go word count!) post isn't entirely about Jack FM.

Because apparently, as of last week there's a NEW player in town.
107.9 FM, which used to play R&B and hip hop has switched formats. It's now "Area 108", and it's currently DJ-less. The station is using an alternative format, and is playing heavily on the songs from the 90s that I really enjoyed. I haven't listened to Area 108 as much - I only just discovered it yesterday - but the fact that there are now 2 stations in Las Vegas that have no DJs and who are playing songs that I like is quite good news.

EDIT! I've been listening to Area 108 all night now, (for about three hours, anyway) and dude. In addition to being DJ-less, right now Area 108 is commercial free! You can hear for yourself (assuming your computer has speakers) at area108.com End edit!

In conclusion, Robots unite! Message saved. Low battery.

Talk about, pop music.

Victor wrote this one. And the questions are all song lyrics. It's like someone wants me to return to posting at the WD or something.

Who Are You?
Who who. Who who.
I'm just a guy. Really.

I Am What I Am. Are you Are What You Are, Or What?
Yes.

How Do You Know When It's Love?

When it hurts, I guess.

Where's The Man?
Sadly, The Man is ubiquitous.

What Makes You Think You're The One?
Delusions of grandeur. That's what makes anybody think they are the One.

Hey, Joe. Where Ya Goin' With That Gun In Your Hand?

Nowhere. Seriously, man. Nowhere at all.

Do You Wanna Touch Me?

Not as such.

Who Wants To Live Forever?

Genes. Those stupid selfish things. I think they might also be demented, because I can't for the life of me figure out WHY.

How Soon Is Now?

Right...now! Now! Now!!
In other words, it's pretty soon.

What Kind Of Fool Am I?

That's between you and your god. Hee.

How Do You Talk To An Angel?
Well, if you own the DVDs...you just pop it in and start talking to the screen.Or, if you know David Boreanaz personally, then, you know, there's that.

Who Will You Run To When It All Falls Down?

Oh, you know. soandso, I guess.

Stop Walking Down My Street. Who Do You Expect To Meet?

The devil, maybe? Hmm. And I'm wondering if I got the answers to the last two questions mixed up...

Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad?

Have I? I would venture to say that, yes. I have.

Do You Really Want To Hurt Me?
Not as such.

What's Love Got To Do With It?

Everything. Ev. er. e. thing.

Where Do We Go From Here?

Damned if I know, man. I'm just trying to figure it out as I go along.

I get by with a little help from my friends.

Let me take you down, ’cause I’m going to strawberry fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry fields forever.
Living is easy with eyes closed, misunderstanding all you see. It’s getting hard to be someone but it all works out, it doesn’t matter much to me.
Let me take you down, ’cause I’m going to strawberry fields. Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
Strawberry fields forever.
No one I think is in my tree, I mean it must be high or low. That is you can’t you know tune in but it’s all right, that is I think it’s not too bad.
Let me take you down, ’cause I’m going to strawberry fields.
Nothing is real and nothing to get hungabout.
 Strawberry fields forever.
Always, no sometimes, think it’s me, but you know I know when it’s a dream.
I think I know I mean a ’yes’ but it’s all wrong, that is I think I disagree.
Let me take you down, ’cause I’m going to strawberry fields.
Nothing is real
and nothing to get hung about.
Strawberry fields forever.
Strawberry fields forever.

I figured I'd have the Beatles add 188 words to my word count. Because Strawberry Fields has been going through my head for the past two hours, and I wanted to add some color to my blog.
I know reading the lyrics has changed my viewpoint (it almost always does), so hopefully it's had an impact on you as well.
You may now carry on your usual internet business. [grin]

Hit Me Baby 1 More Time

Before I forget - other Netflix DVDs watched this month: Pirates of the
Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl
, Tuck Everlasting, and Pooh's
Heffalump Movie
. Which brings the total to 5. I think.

I've restarted this like four times now, because each time is just
...boring.

My desk is a mess. I'm so unorganized and cluttery. Part of me wants to
just toss everything in the trash. So long, papers! So long, green pen!
So long more papers!!

Still no progress on either story. On any story. Writing? Bah!

We watched part of NBC's Hit Me Baby 1 More Time last night. For those
not in the know - consider yourselves lucky - this show is an unscripted
program wherein bands that had hits (sometimes just one) in the 1980s
(or early 90s) are brought back to perform in front of an audience.
Multiple bands play each week, and then the studio audience votes on
which band was the best. The winner gets $50,000 donated to the charity
of their choice, along with an additional 15 seconds tacked onto their
15 minutes of fame.

Last night's bands were: The Knack ("My Sharona"), Tommy Tutone ("Jenny
(867-5309)"), Haddaway (um...who? Oh! That "Baby don't hurt me" song. I
swore that was Howard Jones that sang that, but whatever), The Motels
("Only the Lonely") and Vanilla Ice ("Ice Ice Baby").

Each band sings their original hit, then once all the bands are done,
they come back to sing a cover of a song that is famous now.

In between are snippets of interviews with the wash-ups, finding out how
life has been treating them since fame left them.

So. Highlights (such as they were) from last night's episode:

Tommy Tutone does computer work now! He's an office drone, and seemed
very sad about it. I actually felt kinda bad for him. It seems The Man
had won in regards to Mr. Tutone. And when they sang "Jenny (867-5309)",
they were pretty rocking. I got goosebumps. (Which, admittedly, doesn't
mean much. I get goosebumps from frickin' pizza commercials) Anyway,
when they came back to do "All the Small Things" by Blink 182...um. The
goosebumps went away. They BUTCHERED that song. Oh, man. It was
extremely painful to listen to. He kept putting the emphasis on
the wrong syllable. Also, as Steph pointed out, "he sounds too
tired to sing". Aww. Poor 80 year old man. At least he gets an A for
effort, right?

I missed The Knack's performance of "My Sharona", which is a pity,
because they did an okay version of "Are You Gonna Be My Girl?" by Jet.
Funny Steph commentary: The Knack guy says, "The Knack - you can't kill
it with a stick." Steph says, "What can you kill it with?" Heh. My wife
gets all the good lines.

The Motels were boring all around. When the lead singer lady (I can't be
arsed (heh) to check her name) came back for her rendition of the Norah Jones song, "Don't Know Why", though, she totally turned it into an 80s song.
I don't think that's meant as a compliment, but I guess the small amount
of goosebumps I got would argue otherwise.

I didn't see Haddaway perform his first song, either. But his cover of
Brittany Spears' "Toxic" was wrong on many many levels.

And then there was the Ice.

Oh. But first, the Host. Or, rather, the HostBot. The host of this show
is a British guy who ...I don't know what, exactly, but he just looks
wrong somehow. Like his teeth are too large, or his face is too square
or ...something. Steph suggested that maybe he is a robot, and that made
sense to me. HostBot! And sense I never heard HostBot say his "real"
name, HostBot he shall be.

Anyway, HostBot kept referring to Vanilla Ice as Vaniller Ice. Hee.
Vaniller.

So, yeah, when they showed Vaniller's back story (they did that for all
of them - updating the viewers who are too young to remember when these
people were "important", or reminding those of us who had tried to
forget) they played snippets of "Ice Ice Baby", and of course, I got
goosebumps.

But then they doubled, because Vaniller came on stage, and the funk, he
did bring. Ohhh, yeeeah.

He kicked all kinds of ass, because if there was a problem, yo, he'd
solve it.

Except for when he put the mike out for the audience to sing along.
Because either they were too far from the microphone, or they weren't
singing loudly enough, or maybe the microphone wasn't really plugged in
to begin with, but whenever Vaniller would hold out the mike for some
"audience participation", there was a pretty embarrassing lack of
lyrics. Doh.

But despite that, there was break (grape) dancing (heh) and record
scratching and lots of words to everyones muthas. So it was good.

His 2nd song, though, was supposedly Destiny's Child's "Survivor", but
Vaniller turned it into some kind of hip-hop metal ...mishmash that was
not appealing. Interestingly enough, Stephanie got goosebumps from that. (Okay, I did too, but it took longer for it to effect me.)

In the end, there was no contest. The audience (both studio and
television viewing) knew that Vaniller had stolen the show, so the Make
a Wish Foundation wound up 50 thou richer. Hoorah.

Next week, because I'm a huge sucker for bad tv, I'm sure I'll watch again.

Liner notes, etc.

Wow. So much happened today to blog about, but I have already pre-determined what today's entry would be. So, quickly:

Got a phone call from Mike. That was awesome. He's doing really well, and offered (jokingly...mostly) a job to me in Minnesota that pays like almost double what I'm making now.

We heard back from one of the bills we entered on the Where's George? site. (wheresgeorge.com) Cool! The dollar had only traveled 11 miles, but still, it was exciting to finally get a response. Yay for money tracking!

Um. I guess that was pretty much all. Doh. I thought there was more to my day, but apparently not.

Luckily I've got that pre-determined blog entry to fall back upon, huh?

Okay. So, one year ago today I went and identified all the song lyrics I'd used as blog titles on my blog. I figured, since then, I've used several other songs, so now I'll ID those. Maybe every Feb. 17th I'll update this. It'll be a gimmick. Gimmick!!!!

Clouds in my synapses on Jan. 11th, 2005, gets partial credit for being derived from You're So Vain by Carly Simon

I used to blog a little, but a little wouldn't do it, so the little got more and more. on Feb. 14th, gets partial credit for being derived from Mister Brownstone by Guns 'n' Roses

Whew! I think the thing I learned from this is to make sure I only do it once a year. And to use less song lyrics as titles.

Blog Challenge #4: A Picture's Worth 1000 Words

Here it is. The final Blog Challenge. Thanks to everyone who participated - or at least thought about participating, since it is the thought that counts. Of course, the other challenges are still open, there is no expiration date, so if you were simply waiting for inspiration to hit you, or until after the events of November had passed to partake, you still can.
The other challenges:

Blog Challenge #1: To comment is to reply.

Blog Challenge #2: CAST Away.

Blog Challenge #3: _'d l_k_ t_ b_y _ v_w_l.

Which brings us to this one.

The challenge is to take some writing and make it in the style of Ape10. For those not in the know of what I mean, I'll explain. Some of the words of your writing must have links to images. The images should correspond to the words, but you can be creative with it.
As for the writing, it can be lyrics to a song (which is what I will be doing) or a poem you like (bring Shakespeare to life!) or a short story or even an original piece. Whatever works for ya.
Now, have fun!

Here's my contribution to today's blog challenge.

On the first part of the journey I was looking at all the life
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rain
The first thing I met was a fly with a buzz
And the sky with no clouds
After three days in the desert fun I was looking at a river bed
And the story it told of a river that flowed
Made me sad to think it was dead

You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can't remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,la,la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,la,la

After nine days I let the horse run free 'cause the desert had turned to sea
There were plants and birds and rocks and things
There was sand and hills and rain (see above)
The ocean is a desert with it's life underground
And a perfect disguise above
Under the cities lies a heart made of ground
But the humans will give no love

You see I've been through the desert on a horse with no name
It felt good to be out of the rain
In the desert you can't remember your name
'Cause there ain't no one for to give you no pain
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la, la,
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la
La, la, la, la, la, la, la, la (again, see above)

Man, that took a lot longer than I had thought. Apologies to America (the band, not the country).

What the world needs now...

... is love, sweet love. That's the only thing, that there's just too little of.
True.

Other song lyrics that are true:

I used to be a little boy.

One and one and one is three.

"No!" means "No!" "No!" is always "No!" If they say "No!" it means a thousand times "NO!"

Heh. Songs are smart.

Stolen from the Jupe....

I present to you the titles I've used that are lyrics from songs - explained!

From here on out, though, you're on your own. It'll be fun! When you think a title is a song lyric, when you leave a comment just state the song (and artist, if you're showing off).
