It's Pi day, Pi day, gotta get down on Pi day...
I'll need to circle by the grocery store on the way home from work to buy a pie.
I have a lot of writing to do this week and no desire (currently) to do any of it. That'll undoubtedly change - most certainly when I'm in the car, away from my notebooks, pens, and keyboards.
Speaking of which, it's practically time to get going... so, this entry was short and meaningless. I really should start planning topics ahead.
end(ish) of the day edit - bought two pies - one cherry, one pumpkin. Then got home, walked thru the door, and promptly dropped the cherry pie all over the floor and Silas's brand new shoes. Sad pie day.
The pumpkin is still fine, and I'm sure the rest of the family will enjoy it (I don't like pumpkin pie), but, man, what an unfortunate event.

7 years later
Today is my blogoversary!
Hard to believe it's been seven years since I joined blogger and started this web log.
I'm curious as to how small my reading audience has dwindled to, so, I'm doing a stalker roll call. If you are reading this blog, please leave a comment, even if it's simply the word verification.
I'm guessing the total number of comments will be... 11. (Unless a conversation starts in there, in which case it will be 14.)

:/
There are certain bloggers i wish would update more often, but I totally get that they don't.
I had(have) more to say, but honestly, even typing this is a struggle. My mind is just NOT in the mood to type text right now. (Which begs the question of why I'm bothering to post this at all. I don't know, precisely, why, I think it's because there's a part of me - a very nagging, irritating, persistent part of me - that also wants to write. Write something. So I'm caving to that part - but the other part that has nothing to say or thinks anything I do say is boring trash - is winning. Hrm.
Blah. This was a very mundane entry. Perhaps the word verifications will spice things up a bit. If you reply, work your wv into your comment. You know. If you want.

all work...yada yada... dull boy
Another day of being way too tired to blog anything of interest. Sorry. I suspect after Sunday that will change. Well, I mean, I'll probably still be tired, but there will be much more to report on. (We're going to go camping for in the RV for the first time over the next two days...)
So, yeah. Busy day at work. Didn't do a lot of TV watching - an hour at home (The Simpsons & an episode of Mork & Mindy [dude. That show... really really unfunny. I loved it as a kid, but, then, I would've been about 5 or 6 and probably didn't care that I didn't understand the jokes.]Anyway, I have been thinking for a while that a movie-ized version of Mork & Mindy might be half-way decent {or, more accurately, half-way inevitable} but I think what would be better would be a re-imagining of it.
You know, like they did with Battlestar Galacta and Bionic Woman? They should remake Mork & Mindy, but make it all dark and sinister instead. If done correctly, I'd totally watch that.)
And at work I watched the news for 30 minutes, Dr Phil for 20, and about five or so of just random catching stuff on the screen.
Grand total, including the ten minutes of news I watched when I got home that I had forgotten about at first, comes to... oh, let's say 2 hours and fifteen minutes.
Month to date total is now 11 hours. Whee!

And the world is beautiful, just look around
Went to the libe during my lunch break because if I didn't get out of the office, I was going to have a complete and utter nervous breakdown. Hey, maybe I did anyway! [insert crazy laugh]
ANyway, I faced the quadruple digit temps and picked up a bunch of comic book/graphic novels/books with pictures and 3 cds by Harry and the Potters, because I'm lowbrow, and easy to please. Also, my attention span is just not up to reading full length novels anymore. Or writing them, either, apparently! [insert crazy laugh]
[sigh]
Today was a ...not good day at work. I'm trying to let it go, though, so maybe I shouldn't blog about it. On the other hand, perhaps getting it out will allow me to stop thinking about it. Let's compromise, shall we?
I'll blog about it in a moment, if I still feel I have to. First, other things:
We (well, Saren and I - Steph & Harper were smart enough to stop at various midpoints) watched Napoleon Dynamite last night.
HOLY FUCK that was the absolute worst piece of garbage I have seen in a LONG time. What the fuck is wrong with people that that movie has been so hyped? It was the opposite of funny. It was the epitome of UNfunny. I sat there, for an hour and 36 minutes, thinking, "It's got to get better." "It's going to get better, right?" "Maybe it'll get better."
It doesn't.
In fact, I realized something last night, anytime I've watched something thinking, "Maybe it gets better" ...it doesn't. Season 7 of Buffy didn't. Napoleon Dynamite didn't. I'm sure there are other examples, but I can't remember any right now. But the "maybe it'll get better" line is a fool's trap.
At some point, I realized that ND was NOT going to get better. I don't know when that was, but instead of turning it off, or finding something better to do, I opted to stick it out to see just how bad it could be.
Bad.
But after watching it, and after thinking back to all the hype that surrounded it, I had two thoughts:
1) The hype must be an elaborate prank. It's some sort of complex meta-joke, in which people know that it's an awful unfunny complete waste of time, but they say that it's great in order to see if anyone else will really buy into it. Those who do, are just as ...challenged mentally, shall we say? as Napoleon is himself.
2) Maybe I just don't get it.
Anyway, if it were possible to rate negative stars on Netflix, this would certainly deserve them.
Hmm. Urge to post about work is fading, but still somewhat here.
I'll suffice to say that work sucks. People expect me to be a mind-reader, and also don't take into consideration a) how much work I already do and b) that piling on more work on top of that won't be a problem.
Also, I'm vastly vastly underpaid.
On the bright side - I'm taking July 2nd and 3rd off, and the 4th is a holiday, so there's a five day break coming up at the end of next week. Cool.

2 mehgit. 2 mehgit 2 quit
Maybe it's having gone back to work after having 18 days in a row off.
Maybe it's that the amount of work was overwhelming, and I spent a good portion of the day feeling like I was drowning and/or wanting to cry.
Maybe it's rising gas costs.
Maybe it's watching the news, or reading the news, or hearing the news, or the fact that there's news.
Maybe it's riding the bus.
Maybe it's the chaos and clutter.
Maybe it's seeing evolution going on as I walk through businesses in Las Vegas.
Maybe it's just me.
Whatever it is, this yucky empty feeling can stop now, thanks.

Because I've got nothing interesting to blog about today (or ever, really, but today in particular), I will instead provide some links to other places that will amuse you. Hopefully.
Slap the French!!
(Chainsaw should like that one.)
To alcohol: The cause of, and solution to, all of life's problems.
Why did the chicken cross the road?
Enjoy!

Roar!
In two days, it'll be 03/03/03. Which means in 3 years and 3 months and 3 days, the world will end. (Except it really won't.) What it really means is that I have 3 years, 3 months, and 3 days to write the fucking story that has been in my mind now for ...4 years? Nope. 5. Wow. I am a monument to procrastination and laziness.
I'm an idle idol.
God, I should write.

Heh. Interesting.
Whenever I go to write in my journal, I "block" at the blank page. I would think, since I'm posting and/or PMing at the WD all the time, that sitting at the computer would be easier. And yet, here I am, "blocking" at the blank white screen.
Of course, it's much less blank now. But that's a good thing.
I've been in a lot of up and down moods today. The board was getting to me earlier, all the stupid infighting. All the negativity. All the taking everything (and I do mean EVERYTHING) way too seriously. Gah.
But then I just said (to myself), "Enough. Screw coming here and feeling bad. I come here for fun, and to sometimes interact with folks whom I consider pretty good friends. Don't let the bad stuff get to you."
And then I didn't. I actually posted some fun, funny stuff. (Mildly amusing, at any rate) and sent out a few good PMs (although nobody I'm *really* friends with was on, and I forgot to PM bettie and Jupe. [doh]) And by the time I logged out, I was no longer upset. Yay for mind-set improvement!
But then I came here, and was a bit upset again (not to a great degree, or anything) by the lack of interesting writing that was going on. Of course, now, I'm simply just blathering away like some kind of ...blathering thing. (I believe the phrase is "blathering idiot" [wink])
Hm. Now that I've said *that*, though, I seem to be done. Again.
But I'm not. Not really. I mean, I've got a LOT of things that have been going through my head, and I just haven't *said* them yet. Weird. Maybe sometime soon they'll actually make the leap from brain to computer screen.

Oh, watch how boring this entry will be.
Nice first impression, P@.
So, yeah. I've finally decided to take the leap and jump onto the bandwagon. I've done got myself one of them thar blogs!
So what will I use this for? Hm. Good question. Mostly, just random thoughts. Maybe story writings (there's a laugh). Undoubtedly I'll come here to rant. Or when I'm bored out of my skull. Or happy. It'll be like my non-online journal. Only hopefully much less boring. (Um. Not thus far.)
It ought to be fun.
Or not sure. Or not important.
And that'll do it for now.
