Okay, I know what I'm requesting for Xmas.

Sleep.

Lots and lots of sleep.

I know I won't get it, but, oh. your. god. I am exhasusted right now, and nothing sounds nicer than just not having to get up in 7 hours.

I'm not really complaining 9well, I guess I kinda am, but I don't mean to sound that way) because today was an okay day. Well, okay night. The day was ...there. Simultaneously too much to do and too little. It's hard to explain unless you're me. And even then.

Anyway. I had somethings I wanted to bloga bout and now i'm all UTP@ [because we went to Steh's mom's house for dinner, which was made the night, and also why I'm up past my bedtime. heh.] so now i'm forgetting waht I wanted to blog about.

Oh. It was new years resoltuions I thought about cmmiting to earlier today. Basically that I'd go back to working onm y writing(sS) and that I 'd go back to [and finish] The Project (which [supersigh] I haven't even *looked* at in over a year). But the thing is, I don't *do* new years resooultions anymore, because the thing is - if you're really going to change, why wait until the arbitrary date of the new year? Just freaking *do* it. Ya know? But these are sorta/kinda different (he lied to himself to justify more procrastinations) in that I'm saying that I just want to have done something by the end of 09, not that i have to immediately start on jan. 1. I could conceivably start on either (ro both) 'resolutions' tomorrow, if i wanted.

The other thnig: ...no. I've lost it again. Doh.

I ihink i'll just hit publish post now, and go to bed. Next time i blog, it'll be Xmas Day!

Almost didn't blog.

So. Very Tired.
Watched an episode of The Shield ("A Thousand Deaths" - which had a laugh out loud moment when Corrine told Vic that she has been dating Dutch), the usual Dr Phil stuff, all of who wants to be a millionaire, about ten -fifteen minutes of last night's MyNetwork lineup (special episodes of the new game show "Temptation", folllowed by that "Revealing How Magic Tricks Are Done" special from a few years back) and then about two minutes (if that) of the Kabalah DVD when I got home.
For a grand total of 1 hour and 47 minutes (approximately) of tv viewing time today.
TOtal for the month so far 8 hrs 45 minutes

So glad tomorrow is friday. and that it's bedtime now.

never underestimate the power of coincidence

1st things 1st - i have a sleeping baby in my arms, and i'm utP@, do typing is not easy, and typos will most likely occur.

surprisingly little tv viewing today, again. only 45 minutes )more or less) done at work, and only the 30 minutes to watch Maarge vs the Monorail at home.
work tv was 15 minutes of Dr. phil A& his commercials (a daily thing. mayve i'll explain it in detaul tomorrow when i'm not so tired), 15 minutes of a Lifetyme Television Movie that was on during lunch (Tori Spelling got stabbed by some other actress that loooked fam, iliar, but i can't id her. I think the mnovie may have beeen called "Death of a Cheerleader", snd if not, it should be.), and 15 minutes of here and there catching glimpses on the monitors in the control room or on Art's tv in his office.

ANyway, total for the day, approximately 1hr 15minutes.
total 4 the month so far - approx 4 hrs 13 minutes

The other big thing of the day- As I was leaving work, I backed into a parked car.
I considered, briefly, simply leaving and not doing anything, after I got out of the van and saw that the damage to both vehicles was extremely minimal (a small amount of paint had come off the car i hit). Instead, i parked the van, and went into the builddng where the car (a shiny silver newish looking Ford Magnum, in case it matters) was pareked.
The business, by the way, is a Kabbalah center of something or other. They, like, selll Kabbalah-related merchancidse or something.
Anyway, I went inside, and there was a young blonde woman on the phone behind the counter. After five minutes or so of waiting (not really an exaggeration, but maytbe?) for her to get off the phonbe and talk to me, i ask her if that car out front is hjers. "Yeah. Kinda?" she responds. (She's driving i t, but it's actually her teachers car, she tells me)
I told her that i backed into her car, and does she want to see the damsage, yada yada.
We go outside, and she looks at it, and i get the insurance info, and she makes a copy of it, and then as she's handing it back to me, she says, "since there's no such thing as coincidence, here's a free kaballah dvd, so you can know what we're all about."
???? The hell?
I simply said, "ok, thanks".
i gave her my contact numbers (cell phone and home phone) so she could give them to the car's ownder, and ...well, that was,m like, 6 hours ago. In a perfect wrold, the guy would just say, "Oh well, no big deal," and not even bothher calling the insurance comapny. Maybe he still will. I know if the situation were ferversed, that's what i'd do. [shrug]

in other news, there's some new church sign wisdom to share, but i'll do that tomorrow.

And lastly, we went rv-material-shopping today. our maiden voyage in it will be this saturday. Let's hope i don't back into anything.

s.o.c. it to me

Thoughts:

How the hell did SkyNet come up with the idea of time travel to begin with? The computer system was designed to monitor defense systems, it became self-aware, and when humans decided to shut it down, that's when it opted to kill us. So ...when did it develop time travel? I mean, if there truly were a nuclear war, wouldn't most of the materials have been destroyed to begin with?

Dear Area 108,
1) It's Area One-oh-eight. Not one-oh-seven-nine. I refuse to accept this change. Refuse!!
2) I do not like (green eggs and ham) Icky Thump by the White STripes. It is not a good song, and will not become a good song no matter how many times you play it during a day. (eg, 832)

Dude. Gremlins 3 would so rock, if done conrrecltly.

Oh, yeah, I'm UTP@, in case that was not of the evident ...material?

Um. Wow. I just keep on blanking. It's ...sorta scary, honestly. But. Oh, you know, at least, something.

Heh.
Um. Oh! You know what wiuld suck? If you died, and went to heaven, and when you got to the gates, there were three celebrity judges.

Actually, not only Gremlins 3, but I'd like to see Grease 3, Bill & Ted 3, and ...no, that's all. Are there any other movies that stopped at 2? Everything goes to 3 now. Or gets redone. And then goes to 3. Or 5. Or 11.

Oooh! Pizza! I'm starving like a marvin.
Tommorow is Summer. Pizza time!

This thursday is the CW Upfront. (2nd ever!!) [The other networks are doing theirs at various times this week. I'd talk about them, but I don't work for the other affiliates, so I'm not going to.]
Anyway. The point is that that means I'll have a topic to blog about on Thursday!! Assuming, of course, that I'm not so freaking exhausted by the end of the day that I can be bothered to.
Right now, I am so UTP@, and have such a skull-cracking headache, that it's impressive that I'm getting this boring non-entry written.

Work is ttally kicking my ass lately. With my supervisor being out, I've stepped up my responsibilities tenfold (or, at least threefold), and I just have to wonder why I care so much.

,.,.,.,,,.

so tired, shouldn't even be blogging, ut;s not like i'v nethibg to say. but my brain was saying, "if yo don't blog, I'm gonna make you all antsy." and so i'm blogging. with nothing much to say. but the words are coming faster now. like streamish of conciousnessish.
ish.

And, ta da. Just like that, thery're turned off. And on again. It's like it's opposite world or something. As soon as I say one thing, the other takes place. Universe has a sense of humore.

I had soem psuedo-insight about the nature of the universe and god and ...god earlier, but it's slipped away. So, that was a pretty pointless sentence. Maybe it'll come back to me soonly. If it does, I'll be sure to sahre.

October is fast approaching. And I've signed up for ABally's blog challenge of blogging everyday that month. Hope I have more to say when that rolls around.
In the meantime, I rEALLY wish that blogger would get the new version released. Steph's blog ahs laready switched over, and it looks awesome, and everytime she blogs it makes me alll envious. Plus, there's another blog I'd like to get started and the new features will definitely hlep in that regard.
And now, I am going to publish post and eventually stumble into slumbo land.

TGIF

Oh. Wait. It isn't yet.

GDIIFY

Heh.

I'm so bloody tired.

June mayvery well end up being the month from hell. Heh. JuneMay. But, yeah. We'll see.

I think, tomororow, if I'm awake and coherent enough, I might actually blog something that makes sense.

NAB the Driver

Okay. Lame title. But I'm pretty much UTP@ right now. Of course, I've been UTP@ for like, well, a week or so now.

Anyway.

Yesterday I attended the NAB Convention. NAB = National Association of Broadcasters.
All the big TV, radio, internet dweebs (dweeba, dweeba!) were there. It was very very overstimulating and exhausting and boring. The Ultra Hi-Def presentation was cool. Because, you know, High Def isn't "oh wow!" enough, they had to make it ULTRA Hi Def.
But, anyway. In fifty years, when people are actually able to afford getting Ultra Hi-Def in their homes, that's gonna be some whacked out shit...tizzle. Or something.

On the way back to the station, though, was the cool part of the day. See, behind the Sahara Hotel and Casino, there is a brand new ...thing called "The Drive". It's sponsored by General Motors, and basically consists of two driving courses where people pay money to drive GM vehicles around.
One of the courses is the "precision course" where you can drive sporty-racey type of cars around a curved race track type of course.
The other is the "outdoor course" where you can drive a Hummer H2 or H3 up big old hills and over steep inclines and over logs and through flames and next to hissing cobras.

My supervisor and I were watching them from a distance, and were saying, "That looks like fun. We'll have to check it out sometime." And were going to leave it at that, but as we were leaving, we discovered that until the end of April, it's FREE for locals! Awesome!

So, I got to drive an H2 over some crazy hills, and then I got to speed around in a corvette. All for free. Hee!

It was a lot of fun, and we are thinking about sneaking back down there during lunch on Friday. I highly suggest that any Las Vegans who happen to be reading this (Hi, Miranda!) find a way to get down there before May 1st. (The price for non-locals, and once the special ends, is 10 bucks. That gives you two drives - you can do two of the precision course, two of the outdoor course, or one of each.) Only catches: You must be 18 or older (even to be a passenger, so, yeah, that sucks that the kids can't go with ya), you must have a license, and you have to pass a breathalizer test.

But, yeah. Totally fun experience.

In other news, Take Your Children To Work Day is on Thursday. So, I'm sure I'll have plenty to report on that day.

And, the biggest thing of the day - Irina took 5 (FIVE!!) steps on her own today!! EEEEEE!!

Fourplay

Fair warning - I'm pretty tired. Not really at UTP@ lefel (or level, if you prefer) but almost. I'd get a Silver Medal if I were competeing (sp?) in the UTP@lympics.

ANyway. Miranda "tagged" me with this meme about a gabillion years ago, and so here I am. I was going to talk about Cell, since I finished it last night, but I'll wait until tomorrow to do that. Or maybe Steph will do it for me. Heh.

Time to get ill

Apparetnly.

Steph, Saren, and to a degree, Harper, are all sick. I was feeling it a little yesterday, but appear now to be okily-dokily. Although I AM UTP@. Because I went tino work early, and so have been awake since four in the freaking bmorning. Four!

So, I guess that's all. Um, to Jupe, no, that was not "it". It will be forthcoming. Hee. Fourth.

Oh. I suppose I should answer my boq. And, I saw that Annika has requested that we put up our xmas wish list. And, I have a whole funny post idea that is sort of related to that, but a) Survivor is on and 2) everyone is sick and thirdly) I am totally freaking UTP@.

So. Quick answer of the movie boq from the other day, and then the next part of the xmas story, and then that is all.

Who's Harry Crumb?
Eww. A hairy crumb? That is totally something you would find like under the stove. eww.

What's the Worst That Could Happen?
Um. A railroad spike thru the gut?

Are We There Yet?
Don't make me turn this car around!
Wow. This boq is turning out pretty lame.

What the #$*! Do We (K)now!?
Not much, you?

Who Framed Roger Rabbit
That is not technically a question, ya know.

What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?
Her and Dick grew up, got a dog (Spot) and lived happily ever after.

O Brother, Where Art Thou?
He's in Mechanicsville, last I heard.

Shall We Dance?
Heh. I don't do public dancing. Steph has seen why that is.

Guess Who's Coming To Dinner
That isn't a question, either. But if someone is coming to dinner, I hope they like pizza. Because that's what we had.

Car 54, Where Are You?
Guatamala. Heh.

Dude, Where's My Car?
HEEE! This ties in with Survivor right now. But, I'm not on surivivor. So to answer the question, my car is sitting in the driveway.

Where Were You When The Lights Went Out?
Well... if they went out right now, I'd be at the computer. I'd also be extremely pissed since I'm quite close to submitting this entry.

Okay, yeah. That was a pretty lame bunch of questions. Better one next ime.

In the days when Herod was king of Judea, Mary was visited by an angel.
The angel said, "You shall bear a son and call Him Jesus."
In those days, everyone went to the city of his ancestors to be taxed.
Joseph had to go to Bethlehem, the city of David.
Joseph and Mary made the long journey together.
When they reached Bethlehem, the city was full of people. (who were maybe robots)
There was no room for Mary and Joseph at the inn.
Mary and Joseph had to stay in a stable.

A stable what? A stable relationship? A stable platform? TELL ME!!

Eh. I should not blog qhiel tired. It makes for lamesly stuff.

dead tired

Heh. a Halloween pun.

Zombies laugh.

So, yeah. Long day. Good day. I'm exhausted. Tomorrow is NaNo. Tomorrow is November. Tomorrow is only 1.5 hrs away.

Halloween was fun, though. Miranda's get together shindig party thing was spooktacular, even if I didn't speak. =)

Girls got lotsa candy. Irina was cute as hell. Feet are very sore. Pictures will no doubt be posted by the Steph soon, alongw ith a more coherent recap.

I'm going to sleep now.

Monday, May 23, 2005

Ba dum dum dum.

I'm just blogging until I leave. Leave to get dinner. Whatever that may be. But I have no idea how long I'll blog. Or even what I'll say. I'm kinda UTP@ right now, so I'll probalby be all rambly, which helps with nothing. But there ya go.

I decided today that Club Fed is one of the WORST movies I have ever seen. And I've seen some really bad movies before. So, as I am wont to do with movies after watching them, I went to imdb to see how badly it got trashed.

The reviews there were disheartening. Very very disheartening.

Okay, Stephanie wants to eat the cat, so I suppose I should go.

This didn't turn out as whatever as I had planned. Or planned. Heh. But later today (or tomorrow, maybe) I'll blog again.

Feer and low things in Laws Vegas

I should disclaim that I am UTP@. There. You have been warned. Warn. Ed.

I awoke at 65:30 this afternomroning. THat was so taht I could take the CAT Bus to work, so that the STeph could ckeep thecar, which she did. And I did. Take the bus, that is. I ddi not, however, sing the "BUs sogn" wile I did it.

But on the birght side, nobody spoke to me. Hooray! I had feared taht I would be forced to interact while partaking in public transportaiotn. But it was unfounded. THankfuly. Why do people strike conversations with complete strangers? Is it lonliness? I think that it probbaly is. Or at least a large part of it. Which is unbelievably depressing. Stupid lonliness. Stupid human condition.

Anyway, yeah, no people talking to me. Everyone kept to themselves, and or discussed amongst themselves. Excpet for the Crazy Guy that was tlaking to the Bus Driver when I first got on. (Their conversation was about the changing weateher patterns [see? Even the crazy people are starting to take notice!] and how great it would be for a tornado to strike the Las Vegas Strip, demolishing casinos along the way.)

What else? Um. The major lesson I learned about the bus is that I need to wear different shoes next time. My work shoes are not designed for walking - so that's just what they'll not do! Heee. I ended up with a blister on my ankle of my left food. Ouch.

The Steph and the girls went ot the Natural History Muesum with the homeschooling group today. It sounds like they had a good time. For waht's it's worth, I wreally wish I could've gone iwth them. I do miss having my mornings free to spend with them. Of cours,e having the nights home so I can have dinners is nice, too. Grass is always geener, blah blah blah.

Let's see, what else? I know I had more to blog about. Hrm. I cut out a boob at work today. And a butt! The breast belong to Teri Hatcher, the butt was ...I don't know who she was. But if you watch Rocky IV, you'll see it. Unless, of course, you watch that movie as it airs on our stations hiere in Las Vegas. [rolldoh]

The Teri Hatcher edit? Awesome. The Rocky edit? Ehhh...not so great. But it was my first real go at it, so I'm willing to cut myself some slack. Also, in the end, all that raelly matters is that the innocent, innocent children don't see a female body part. Right? Right.

I cna't beleive that it's already 8:47pm. It feels lso much later.

Oh. The title, of course, relates to the fact taht Hunter Thomspon has shuffled off the mortal coil. I've not seen the movie, but now I kinda want to. Morbid? Maybe.

Done now.

Monday, February 14, 2005

I used to blog a little, but a little wouldn't do it, so the little got more and more.

Even though it's only Monday (tell me why - I don't like Mondays!), it feels like Tuesday (Dawn must be in trouble). And I'm slightly having a case of the UTP@.

At work today I screened (that's the technical jargon for viewing or watching or wasting two hours of one's life) the movie The Fantasticks. I thought of CassyLee while I was watching it, because it's a musical, and I know that of all the P@riots out there, she'd be the one who would've most likely have seen it. Oh, and Kirk, because he's seen a buttload of movies.

Also, this movie had Joel Grey. Buffy connection! Joel Grey reminds me of Norman Bates, though. Not Anthony Perkins, but Norman Bates. Everytime he was Grey was onscreen, I expected him to begin talking to his dead mother. And, yes, I've confirmed - yet again - that my brain is indeed a very strange place.

Oh, so, The Fantasticks. It totally was one of the worst musicals I've ever seen. Worse, even, then...well, no, I generally like every musical. This one, though, was just lackluster. I enjoyed maybe 40% of the songs, and couldn't tolerate the daughter at all. I don't know why, exactly, she just bugged me.

On the upside, though, there was no nudity or profanity to remove. So, there ya go.

I have several emails that I need to respond to. And comments. And I want to continue working on my story. But I'm going to wash dishes instead of doing any of those things. Because the dishes need to be done. Dude. Heh.

I wonder if I should count this entry on the 17th. Hmm. I think I'll give it (Pepsi?) partial credit.

Tomorrow is payday, finally. Better, though, will be the payday on the 28th, when the raise (from the start of the year) will take effect, along with the retroactive pay that goes along with it. Yahoo! Money.

My blog ID, according to the url up top of the screen is 3869370. I'm very tempted to call that phone number and see who answers. Maybe I will do that some day from the safety of work. I'll report on what happens.

The pizza was not heart shaped, sadly.

I have several blog topics, but not the focus (bofus?!) to actually follow through. Eventually, I suppose.

You know what's odd? Fingerprints. I think I may have discussed this with the Jupe previously. And/or the Steph. But anyway. Fingerprints don't truly serve any evolutionary function, do they? I mean, yeah, I suppose they provide a minimal amount of grip for picking things up. But why should everyone's fingerprints be unique? That's just weird. It's as though evolution were providing CSI workers with ...ammuntion for capturing criminals. But that's ..wrong. Man, my brain is not working right. Suffice to say that fingerprints are the latest piece of (ancedotal?) evidence toward the case that evolution has/had someone behind it all. [/waht?]

Speaking of whatever I'm thinking about right now, hubris is funny. Or tragic, perhaps. (Originally typed - prehaps. Hee. "prehaps". And posthaps! I truly am amusing myself to death tonight) But, yeah, the fact that our station has some movie contracts with certain distributors that end in 2022 makes me simultaneosly amsued and bemused. Maybe even demused. (Not cemused, though. I'm not average. [no, I'm really not. Count for yourself.])

I do believe I mentioned doing dishes several paragraphs up. I think I ought to do that now.

Tuesday, November 30, 2004

It's been a hard day's night.

Sadly, P@ won't be blogging today. Unstead, I, UTP@, will be your host. Enjoy.

Love, UTP@.

Heeee.

I've ..um..been awake since 7am. Seven. A. M.!! DRAMATIC MUSIC>

Heeeee. It's eating the music.

So, yeah. It's now 11:47pm. That's many hours without sleep. Oh! Spekaing (hee!) of no sleep - last night before we went to bed, the police (all of them!) decided it would be fun to fly around our house in a helicopter. With a bullhorn. And drive by with sirens and stuff.
It probably was fun, but not for us. We were of the worried/annoyed/needing to sleep mindset.

Looking into the future...no, try that again. With hindsight (that's better), I discovered that the police (all of them!) were actually hunting for the people who thought it would be fun to rob a nearby casino. That probably was fun. Except for the being hunted (and captured??) by the police (all of them!) part.

I should have more fun in my life. Maybe I'll fly around someone's house. Or hunt for casino robbers.

So, anywhat. I woke up at the ungodly hour of seven after going to sleep around 2. I drove to pick up my paycheck and was annoyed greatly by the morning DJs on 971, the Point, talking about homework. "It prepares kids for the real world." Mmhmm.

Got paid. Cashed check. Bought gas. Verb noun.

We then drove to the really far away world of our unschooling friends who were hosting Sandra Dodd. (See my wife's blog!)

That was fun. But I didn't eat enough. When we left, it was determined that there was no earthly way I could make it to work by the required time, so the Steph opted to keep the car. Yay! I got to work quite hungry, but otherwise okay.

Long story short, I walked into the discovery that both of my coworkers had called in sick. I did the work of three people! They should pay me triple!
They really should. Because, dude. I worked like a freaking ...worker. On the bright side, my supervisor bought me dinner. And it did make the day go by much faster. But tiredness caught up with me sometime around...whenever it did.

Once my shift ended, the Steph arrived and I got in the car, and the Beatles' HArd Day Night was playing on the radio. Heeeee! You said it, British boys!

We stopped at Tacko Bell on teh way home, and ate wonce we got here, and we discovered(re) that all people who work in fast food are stupid.

Then, I read the blogs of my wife, who is funny. Then I blogged this. Then you read it. And that pretty much brings us up to date.

I was originaly(l) planning on watching Hellboy tonight. Somewho, I don't think that's gonna happen now. Becauswe(-w), it's really tired now.

Sleep is good food.

Thursday, November 18, 2004

include bread, veggies and meat.

ANother very tired day. Tiring. Whatev.

News of the moment that made me ...happy, I guess. ABC is moving Alias to Wednesday's, right after Lost! It'll be J.J.Abrams night! Woo. and hoo.

I'm not quite UTP@, but pretty close. Be. Largh.

Let's see, what else? Tomorrow the SpongeBob SquarePants Movie opens. Hooray! Except that I'm sure I'll wait until it comes out on video. But I will see it someday.

This is becoming a very "and then I made a cheese sandwich" entry. Yawn.

You know what's hard to keep in mind? The fact that people you see on TV are just that - PEOPLE. Politicians are human! It's really really difficult to remember that that is a fact. I think they forget, too. Celebrities, models, other people driving on the freeway, news anchors, terrorists. They're all homo sapiens sapiens. I wonder why that's such a hard thing to keep in the forefront of one's brain. Everyone is a person, who has feelings and thoughts and dreams. They each have desires and wants. They all poop. They all eat. They all emerged from a mother.

I think we forget that too often. And, like I said, I think sometimes the people I mentioned forget that they are people too. Some supermodels came into town a few days back - some Victoria's Secret thing...I don't know what the deal was, it was a secret - and it just hit me that all the attention that these women were recieving (and do recieve, like ALL the time) probably made it difficult for them to remember that they're just like the rest of us. They will age. They will die. They shed tears. And skin cells. Just because they've been deemed extremely photogenic (and they were) doesn't shouldn't grant them special uberhuman privileges.
Just because politicians dress up in suits and have lots of pieces of paper...they're still animals.

I don't know. This ramblingness ties in closely with the epiphany I mentioned a few days back, but at this moment, neither thought seems to be making much sense. Guess that's because I'm a human being.

It's kickin' in! Yeah! It's kickin' in! Yeah! It's kickin' in! YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH YEAH!

So, because I'm dumb I went and had a Pepsi at 9:30 at night. It's now 1 in the morning, and guess who is WIDE AWAKE! As an added bonus, guess who has to wake up in about 6 hours.

My knee is sore. I think it has to do with the caffeine. Or at least, that's what I'm blaming right now.

Man, my blood is pumping so fast, my thoughts are too numerous to blog. It's....something. Rapid fire synapses time! If this doesn't flow, forgive me.

Two semi-interesting things from the news today. Both reminded me of the Jupe. First was the interview with a vampire. No. Interview with Kirsten Dunst. Yes. Heh. I didn't get to hear much of it, but it was kinda boring anyway. Guy was talking to her about her costar of Wimbeldon and I was all, "Dude. Who cares about that guy? Talk to her about her." They did talk about sports for a bit, which was even more of a yawnfest, but at least Miss Dunst looked pretty. [up] I asked if Guy got her autograph, but he did not. His response, "Arent' you married?" To which I said, "I wanted an autograph, not a date!"

Anyway, he said that if there are any other stars that I would like autographs from, to let him know, and he'll see what he can do. Of course my brain blanked out at that point. Are there any celebrities I like? I think the answer is no.

Second news/Jupe-related topic. According to a new phone study, more people in New Jersey are looking forward to the fall leaves changing colors than to the presidential election. YAY! Maybe the news will start to cover that instead!

So, the reason we need to wake up so early tomorrow is that we are going to [something]Orchard with the unschooling group. We're going to pick apples and tomatoes and ...other various fruits and vegetables. It's way the hell over in BFE, though, so we've got a heckuva drive ahead of us. Should still be a lot of fun, though. Unless I wind up being UTP@. [/foreshadowing?]

I've got like 40 (read: three, maybe) political posts in my head. AND I still need to finish Ape10 (I don't like to think about that, as it causes me a huge amount of guilt at being so lazy with it. What is it with me and putting off work??) AND! I still have not written Simon's letter to him. Yeesh. Right now I feel like I could accomplish all of that and a hundred other things, but I've got a feeling that that's...not quite right somehow.

You know what I like? People.
You know what I hate? People.

I think I want to change my blog's template again. One of these days I'll find something I like well enough to permenantly stick with.

The longest day

Get it? Cuz today is the solstice, so we get more hours of sunlight today than any other day.

Also, it's been a really long day because last night I worked an overnight shift. (!!!) I haven't worked that shift in four years, and wasn't sure if I'd be able to do it, but I pulled it off. The 8 hours flew by, mostly due to the fact that I was able to stay busy the entire time. Well, that and the 64 ounces of Pepsi.

I got home shortly after 7am, and went to sleep until 10:30. That's all the sleep I've had. But! The amazing thing is, I'm not UTP@!!

Oh, wait, I slept again after the pool. See, at 11, the Las Vegas Life Learners (the local Unschooling group we belong to) had a Summer Solstice party at a pool. We spent five hours there. Five HOT hours. And despite the fact that all of us are more tan (or burnt) than when we first arrived, we all had a very good time. Sandra and Holly Dodd were there, and we actually got to talk to her for a while. She's an incredibly nice lady. And Saren bonded very well with Holly.

I'm glad that this group was started. The Homeschool Melting Pot group that we were members of ....I don't know. I guess it's simply too big. Everytime we attended something with that group, it felt (to me) like we were outsiders looking in on a clique. This group is different. Partly due to it's smaller size. Partly due to it's newness. Partly due to the fact that the members are unschoolers, rather than just homeschoolers. In short, they're good people.

So after the pool, we came home, and I took a short nap. I had weird half-awake-half-dreaming type of thoughts that I can't recall now. Something about boundaries, and how they're flexible and amorphous and arbitrary and ...you know. I'm not talking just land-based boundaries. But learning boundaries as well. Maybe all boundaries. I can't explain it, mostly because it was all jumbled in my head as I was sleeping anyway. Hmmm. I know I said I wasn't UTP@, and I'm not, but perhaps I'm bordering on becoming him. I'm in that nebulous grey area between P@ and UTP@. And that makes a lot of sense to me. Which probably proves nothing, but there ya go.

In other news, I need to come up with a lot of questions for the month of July. People should email me.
